Jane,

I've been mulling this over, trying to figure out why all of these married
names have been assigned to the Legacy AKA field.

I remember TMG had an option to also display and print the married name in
reports. I'm wondering if TMG places the married name in a field in the gedcom
that Legacy reads/ interprets as an AKA when it imports the data. Maybe that's
why each of your married females (if this is, indeed, the case) reads like this
in your reports.

If all of your married ladies do have an entered AKA and you don't want them,
you could do a search and tag everyone on a particular tag, then work your way
through the list, removing the AKA's. If they're tagged, you wouldn't have to
do them all at once. Work on it a while, then return at a later date, until you
get them all removed.

I'm sorry you've run into this glitch.

Mary

  Dermot,

What can't be cured must be endured, and I will do so.

Thank you for clearing that up.
