I am a recent convert from FTM to Legacy and trying to clean-up my sources. I don't understand how or why to use the Source Type. If I have a master source of Census 1900 New York and cite the county, page number etc for details, they why do I need to enter census as the type? It seems redundant. There are no entries for type in the Legacy sample file, so apparently Legacy is not using it either.
