Mikes comments about not hijacking a thread (i.e. asking a question that is totally unrelated to the subject of the email you are using to ask your question) are correct, but certainly didnt answer your question. If you want the notes to print for some reports (e.g. chronology report) but not in others (e.g. narrative reports) you need to put the notes inside privacy brackets [[ ]]. Then on your report options you need to select Print [[private]] notes by default private notes DONT print, so you dont have to make changes to your narrative options. Hope this solves your problem.
