Thank you, Judith!! That's what I have been looking for. Nowhere could I find that in "Help", and it's not obvious by looking at the Search Results layout that one can simply click on either label "Given" or "Surname" to do what I want to do.
This is very handy when, for instance, using the new "Census List" search. I get a list of over 600 individuals, and it is very helpful to be able to sort by surname, listing it first, to focus on those more important individuals for whom I do not yet have a census records for a given year.
