The easiest thing to do is a) use V7 to open your file and then use File/Save As to make a copy of your file with a different name b) download and install V8 c) open V8 with the copy you made at step a) d) try out V8 using that copy and if you are happy then continue to use the copy you made e) at any time you can run V7 and use the original file to check if there are any problems f) ultimately you might want to delete the V7 format file and rename the V8 version of your file
