>I followed exactly what was recommended for the upgrade without any problem
I also followed exactly the recommended upgrade process, which I've done ever
since v5, specifically by loading the upgrade from within my registered copy of
Legacy, and which is advertised as the preferred method for Legacy users. This
time, I had a problem. Not a show-stopper, for sure, but enough to have me ask
for advice on this list. I tried the re-installation process three times, as
instructed, and each time, I had the same problem. It was resolved with kind
help from others on this list, but it certainly didn't originate, for me at
least, in any variation from the standard upgrade process.

For the life of me I cannot understand why people want to interfere with the
way programmers, more knowledgeable than us, have structured the download and
upgrade process. If they don’t follow the recommendations, on their head be
it.I followed exactly what was recommended for the upgrade without any problem,
and then went on to discover the new program from there. To my mind individuals
who follow their own whims in an upgrade deserve the difficulties they have
generated.
