Hi Pat,
Yes the only way to correct this is to restore your backup.
You may first want to use the search for modified date (or time) after
... to see exactly what work you've done since the backup.

The option is one of the checkboxes in 7.3
If you change the checkbox and click Save, it only applies to the future
- but if you click the Apply button it changes all entries to your new
default.

It has worked this way for years with a number of options like this.
Only click Apply if you really mean it.
It is explained in the Help:
If you want to apply a setting you have selected to all your detail
source citations, click the Apply button to the right of the setting.
