It is quite simple, but not always obvious !
C:\Program Files (x86)\Legacy9 is the running executable program and
its support files. Since Win 8? this file is blocked from normal access
by applications.
C:\ProgramData is a hidden folder used by Windows to hold
installation files, and should never be accessed.
x:\Users\zzzz\Documents\Legacy Family Tree is the default folder for
user related data. (In pre-V8 Legacy that was combined with the
executable files into C;\Legacy... ) This folder includes the
configuration files, usually within the _AppData folder, and the user
data, within the Data and Media folders, unless you move Options 6.1 and
6.2 to relocate the user data.
Don't know about Parallels but I suspect that it has mapped part of
the x:\Users\zzzz\ structure into the Mac file structure. While you
could access those from the Mac directly there is always the risk of
corrupting them.

Chris

Subject: [LegacyUG] Location of Legacy Files
OK, help me out. I'm trying to streamline my files. Legacy seems to
have files everywhere.
Is there a map showing where Legacy's files are stored?
I am running Legacy on a Mac using Parallels, so some of my confusion
may relate to the emulator.
I find them here:
* In C:/Program Files (x86) there is a "Legacy9" folder. This looks to
be the main application with its supporting files.
* In C:/Program Data there is a "Legacy Family Tree" folder that seems
to hold nothing other than the Geographic database.
But I also have a Legacy Family Tree folder on the Mac side in
Document. This one is the one that baffles me, unless it has something
to do how Parallels stores the info.
