Yes, you are correct, in that the blank window doesn't appear. Interestingly, this isn't really visible from the screencast (now attached, hopefully). As you can see the recording shows the screen as being distorted while Writer is starting up. I did NOT see this distortion for real, and it is purely an artifact of the recording. Is this a separate issue? It appears also that the dark theme isn't used with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen.
