There's no "need" for DF; nor, in fact, is there "need" for Writer at all. We
can just use plain text, or LaTeX, with some blood sweat and tears. 

... but DF is useful and used. We encourage the use of styles, but since when
are we preventing the use of DF, other than in this case?
