Anyway, I talked with Markus on IRC, and we agreed to cap it to some lower number in the options page. Perhaps 20 would be too low, so we'll cap this number at 1024. Markus tested its memory usage, and creating a new document with 10000 initial sheets would take about 900MB. So, 1/10th of that should be a sensible number even on a lower spec machine. I'll look into this, since Markus is heavily loaded with other stuff at the moment.
