Yeah, I think it was.
The docs have been changed to reflect reality.

While we're on the subject of GDB improvements, I personally would find a "step return" command very useful.
i.e. continue until we leave the current stack frame
very useful when you've stepped into something and you realise this method is useless, and you just want to continue until you're one method up again.
