Subject: Putting a touch pad on a Libretto 50ct Hate the stupid button mouse!

Very intrigued with this Little unused Libretto 50 sitting on my desk. It is in
desperate need of being upgraded in order to make it more usable. I'm planning to
over clock it, put a big hard drive in it, more ram and windows 98.

But the thing that would really get me motivated in the upgrade is a touch pad on the
back where the 2 buttons are. It is an ideal location. Would simply glue the touch pad
from http://www.glidepoint.com/modules/tsmk20.html to the back and hard wire it to a
serial port internally.

Would anyone know about hard wiring to an internal serial port? Or a websight showing
the Toshiba 50 circuit board and the serial location.

Just would like some input if possible!

I just do not want to put the port adapter on it if I do not need to. Having made a
bunch of electronic gismos, I'm sure I can solder to most anything in the Libretto
with a fine soldering pencil.

Is it possible to mirror my mini notebook's operating system which has a Cyrex 233mhz
processor, a 3 gig hardrive, windows 98 and everything on the hard drive and simply
boot it on the Libretto?

I REALLY HATE the Toshiba's, stupid, inaccurate, waste of time, mouse!

Hope to give my previously drowned Libretto a new outlook on life!

Any help will greatly be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely

John B.
