If it does shut down, it must be a thermal issue.  Maybe you have to
disassemble it and regrease the heatsink and set it in properly?

Or maybe just unlucky and have a Libretto that has thermal issues?

As for MP3 playback, AFIK, on my L50/J overclocked to 100Mhz I had owned years
and years ago, no problems at all playing MP3 music with Winamp for hours.  Was
a fun little baby until I upgraded to the L110 and the L50/J became someone's
fish tank controller.
