Just saw this thread on a torrent site. Can anyone confirm this to be
correct.
rTorrent finally supports PE (Protocol Encryption)

Good news fellow Linux users:
Follow these instructions
http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/wiki/Install

Some info for Ubuntu users: When you are trying to compile libtorrent you
need to use the command during your configuration:

./configure --libdir=/usr/lib

otherwise rTorrent will fail to start.

Then create a new .rtorrent.rc file in your home directory with the options
you want including encryption. Add the following line to your .rtorrent.rc
to enable encryption:

encryption = allow_incoming,enable_retry,try_outgoing

This is the same as setting Azureus/uTorrent to enable and prefer encrypted
connections but fallback to an unencrypted connection with clients if it is
not supported by peers.

I can report that the encryption works perfectly, rTorrent is uploading at
full-speed through my traffic-shaped ISP.
Cheers
Eric
