Just a curiosity. Why lilypond engrave this:

\version "2.19.83"
{\partial 8*7 g8 8 8 8 8 8 8}


like

g8[ 8 8]     8[ 8 8 8]

I would expect:

g8[ 8 8 8]     8[ 8 8]
