For the second example, you can get almost the same layout using an
arpeggio with
arpeggioBracket, see
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.12/Documentation/user/lilypond/Lines#Arpeggio
Unfortunately, the current implementation of these brackets is hardcoded
to print them to the
left of the chord. It should be possible to implement a small Scheme
function that generates the
desired stencil for L shaped brackets or brackets to the right of the chord.
