Project: LinCityNG Category: None Status: Open Resolution: None Bug Group: None Priority: 5 Submitted by: kitchm Assigned to : none Summary: Linux Start Error Details: I am using Arch with all latest updates. I receive the following at the command prompt; $ lincity-ng Starting lincity-ng (version 2.0)... [/home/lbj/.lincity-ng] is in the search path. [/usr/share/lincity-ng] is in the search path. [/home/lbj/.lincity-ng] is the write directory. Language is "en_US". fast = 9 Illegal instruction $ It doesn't start from the KDEMod3 menu item, so that is why I tried it manually from the prompt. I didn't see this problem listed anywhere else, but maybe I missed something and its very simple to fix. Any help anyone can give would be appreciated. Thank you. Follow-Ups: Date: 2009-May-29 23:27 By: kitchm Comment: Thank you for the prompt response. At the command prompt I entered: lincity-ng --sdl, use --gl lincity-ng --sdl lincity-ng --gl lincity-ng use --gl .....and any other combination I could think of. It didn't like some of them, but when it ran, I got the same error every time. I used ATI Radeon by installing it with: # pacman -S xf86-video-ati Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks again. ------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2009-May-29 12:58 By: wolfgangb Comment: That is a new one. Looks like it happens before or while the the graphic mode is initialized. Can you try to force SDL mode (lincity-ng --sdl, use --gl to change to OpenGL)? Usually SDL is slower that OpenGL. What video driver do you use? Did you build Lincity from source or do you use the autopackage? ------------------------------------------------------- For detailed info, follow this link: http://developer.berlios.de/bugs/?func=detailbug&bug_id=15768&group_id=2929 _______________________________________________ Lincity-ng-devel mailing list Lincity-ng-devel@lists.berlios.de https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/lincity-ng-devel
