John, If you're talking about HP (High Performance) clusters, then no, that would not make sense. S/390 is not well suited for compute-intensive workloads (the processors are just too slow compared to other architectures). HA (High Availability) clustering would be a different matter. Chapter 18 of the Distributions Redbook (SG24-6264) talks about HA clustering with Linux/390.
