The number they throw around here is that we pay 7 cents a Megabyte (YMMV). Now, that may not sound all that much, there are other costs associated. Like backing it all up and having some place to recover it. How many generations of tapes do you save? Do you really need x copies of Websphere, DB2, Apache, the kernel, etc on each backup run?
