multipath-tools with LVM allows you to have two or more paths to a single
LUN and do I/O load balancing.

In my case I want to setup initially two paths just to learn how to set it
up. We may change it to be 4 paths to a LUN for certain Linux instances
that will support hi usage Oracle 10g DBMS.

The test Linux instance we are using already has ECKD with LVM filesystems
defined that will not be part of the Linux multipath. The new SAN or SCSI
Lun we have connected to this sandbox Linux will be LVM but with multipath
(multiple paths configured for access to the Lun). Part of the
configuration work is to tell LVM that this Lun(s) will be multipathed
which requires the filter statement in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf to be modified to
support this.

Thanks ...........

We do LVM with ECKD but I'm not sure if we do Multipathing.
What do you mean by Multipathing?

I am trying to implement zFCP Multipathing on SLES9 SP3. This is under
zVM 5.2.
