Answered my own question! Found the error codes in the Kernel Messages on SUSE Linux manual here:
http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/dw/linux390/docu/l26ekm00.pdf The explanation states: "The device feature codes state which advanced features are supported by a device. Examples for advanced features are PAV or high performance FICONR. Some early devices do not provide feature codes and no advanced features are available on these devices." Makes sense. I am not using the DIAG module or PAV. dasd-eckd.637cf1: 0.0.0150: Reading device feature codes failed with rc=-5 dasd-eckd.90fb0d: 0.0.0150: New DASD 3390/0A (CU 3990/01) with 3338 cylinders, 1 5 heads, 224 sectors dasd-eckd.412b53: 0.0.0150: DASD with 4 KB/block, 2403360 KB total size, 48 KB/t rack, compatible disk layout dasda:VOL1/ 0X0150: dasda1 This is a SLES 11 SP1 system with latest updates. Everything else appears to run just fine. Does anyone know what this is or where I can find the return codes from this module. I looked in the Device Drivers manual but no luck.
