What about the low end embedded applications.  Say for instance a small PDA
type device.  Or my own application I have a mobile robotic platform with a
tight power budget and I have found an NEC V25 SBC to operate it (this board
draws 100mA).  The OS I will have a look at is going to be ELKS for its
small size and ability to run on an XT.  I challenge you to find me a 486 or
68000 SBC to match or better it...

While this project may only be for my benefit and is not a commercial
product I certainly expect it to further my career.

                That's not very funny. Of course the whole thing works ..
it's just that
                i am unable to see much (any ?) use for it nowadays; it made
some sense
                5 years ago but doesn't make any now.  It is good source to
learn OS
                basics from though.
