linux-cert members,

I just wanted to take a moment to again publicly thank the
folks who staffed a booth presence for LPI at Oracle's
OpenWorld99 show last week in Los Angeles. We only had a
few weeks notice of the opportunity to be at the show, and
had to scramble to get things together, since LPI was *also*
having a presence over at the Linux Business Expo part of
Comdex (in Las Vegas) during the same week.

Thanks are especially due to John Scroggins ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
who stepped up to the plate as our event coordinator there in L.A.
He dealt with getting materials printed, receiving shipments,
scheduling other volunteers and coordinating logistics with Oracle.
There were a few minor bumps along the way, but in the end things
worked out well and we have John to thank for all his hard work.

Thanks are also due to Ray Ferrari, Helen O'Boyle and Keith
Pearson. Ray drove down from the San Francisco area and
stayed with family while helping out. Helen was in the L.A.
area for business and extended her stay an extra bit to help.
FYI, she's also authoring a book about preparing for LPI exams.
Keith works at LinuxLearning (http://www.linuxlearning.com/)
a training center in L.A. partnering with Linuxcare to deliver
Linux classes. Thanks to all of them for their help.

The show was a learning experience and John and company provided
some solid feedback to help us with future shows. And, once
again, it demonstrated the power of volunteers within the
Linux community working together to make things happen!

Thank you,
Dan
