nfs-kernel-server and nfs-user-server

hi,

is there a way to use the nfs-user-server with FAI (debian etch) and 
not the kernel one ?   The debian package seems to prevent that and the 
kernel i use in the fai server is not compatible with it.

 anybody could help ?
