Hi Jon, this patchset was supposed to be a cleanup of the ELF handling code, but I'm finding more stuff to do.
Basically, a number of functions found in multiple files have been refactored and moved into util.[ch]. No features have been added or removed. All the patches pass tests/runtests but have not been used on a live system. (Saving that one for later ...) There are more patches coming up, so if there is anything I should do differently to make your review easier, please let me know.
