Hi list, hi Nemosoft!
Chris Cheney bugged me for a bug I submitted long ago against usbutils
package (debian), and the bug is still present, but it looks like it is
a pwc/usb-subsys problem:
PWC webcam, lsusb -v breaks:
$ dpkg -l usbutils

I am using:
* debian/sid
* linux-2.4.21-pre5
plus various patches (acpi, cdrw-packet, i2c, lmsensors, extfs)
but I guess this is independent of it.
* pwc from latest kernel source, BUT NOT the latest pwc source, there
are some fixes from the website, but I also think that this
would not make a difference.
More infos:
* Epox kta3+pro
* Athlon 1400
* Modules:
...
joydev 6112 0 (unused)
pwcx 86272 0 (unused)
pwc 44328 0 [pwcx]
videodev 6144 1 [pwc]

...
Do you have any idea what may be the reason for this hang? The problem
is as follows: If someone installs hotplug (on any dist) and usbutils
then the call to usbmodules to determine the driver won't work. This is
not a big problems since usbutils/lsusb/usbmodules are not necessary for
hotplug, but if they are existent, it will break, at least on my PC
always.
Best wishes
Norbert
