Hi,

I've been plowing through the various specs on USB trying to find an
answer, but my eyes are starting to hurt ;-)

Perhaps some one knows the answer and a pointer to the reference

Does USB require a CRC of the data packet for the four types of msgs
sent? If so is that value calculated by the software or the hardware
chip? If software, in the kernel or by the application?

Using usbmon does not give any indication that a CRC is appended to the
packet. However, the device I'm sending to expects to see a CRC value.
It works with an MS windows test program, but I don't have the source,
just the .exe file and the results.

Regards
John
