Subject: [Linux-usb-users] Gphoto2 hang: bulk timeout on ep1in

Hello,

I am experiencing problems with USB while trying to download pictures
from various digital cameras. The system where I encounter the problem
is Fedora Core 2 with a self compiled Kernel 2.6.8.1.

When I plug in a camera it gets detected and identified. Gphoto2 (2.1.4)
however just hangs and can't even be killed through signal 9.
When I strace gphoto2 I am able to interrupt. Afer that it is not possible
to remove the kernel module ohci_hcd, though.

When I am booting Fedora with a 2.4 Kernel, it works. I've tried
other 2.6 versions with no success, too. On the same box Suse 9.1 (Kernel
2.6.4-52) is able to download the pics.

I've created a trace of gphoto2 during its hang, maybe it is helpful:

My USB hardware is AMD756. I know it has lots of bugs but there should be
workarounds in the driver (2.4 and 2.6).
Any hints or suggestions for further debugging?

thanks
Oliver
