Is this something new, or a known problem?
I rebuilt the 2.6.10 kernel with CONFIG_USB_DEBUG=y, below is the dmesg output from the USB subsystem. Also, the /proc/bus/usb/devices output is shown below from both the 2.6.9 kernel, where the reader is detected, and the 2.6.10 kernel where it is not. I can provide more info if needed.
