It's your chipset, sorry.
Unless your machine is processing a _lot_ of interrupts (say as a
network server) only having one cpu service the interrupts isn't that
bad of a thing. In fact some people think it is a bit better, as there
are fewer cache misses that way.
What kind of motherboard is this?
If it really bothers you, shell out $20.00 and get a USB PCI card. It
will not have the same problem the onboard controller does.
