I'm in the market for an external 40gb and before I lay out the bikkies I thought I'd
ask whether there are brands to avoid (ie. non-working or semi supported)

I've enabled the usb mass-storage module and the scsi disk module, but searching the
net for the case I'm looking for didn't show anything (it's a Desknote aka Ibuddy aka
UHH-AL2) I like this one because it's powered from the USB.

I guess the question boils down to this: Are all external USB2 drives interchangeable?
I scanned the linux-USB home page and found an entry for 'usb external 2.5' which
said 'working' but of course I can't get the manuf/device id until I plug the thing in.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Simon
