When connecting a new usb mass memory device Transcend Jetflash 256 MB to my Linux PC it crashes with the following messages:
...(0x58F/0x9380) not claimed by any active drivers
initializing USB Mass Storage driver
usb.c: registered new device driver usb-storage
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame #975
usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
scsi1: SCSI emulation for USB mass storage devices
usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame #760

after which everything is dead (keybd, mouse), even the screen clock. My system is Knoppix 3.2 (Debian based) with kernel 2.4.21-xfs. Hardware is Dell Optiplex GX110.

Any help appreciated.
Kris
