I saved the following output from dmesg couple of days ago. It differs from the dmesg I posted in my previous e-mail. I do not understand why they're different, they come from the same comp. But, I would like to understand this output.
Can someone please explain what such a line means: usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -32 dmesg: usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs usb.c: registered new driver hub PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1d.7 to 64 ehci_hcd 00:1d.7: PCI device 8086:265c (Intel Corp.) ehci_hcd 00:1d.7: irq 10, pci mem f8918000 usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 ehci_hcd 00:1d.7: BIOS handoff failed (104, 1010001) ehci_hcd 00:1d.7: enabled 64bit PCI DMA PCI: cache line size of 128 is not supported by device 00:1d.7 ehci_hcd 00:1d.7: USB 2.0 enabled, EHCI 1.00, driver 2003-Dec-29/2.4 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 8 ports detected usb-uhci.c: $Revision: 1.275 $ time 12:59:35 Jan 26 2005 usb-uhci.c: High bandwidth mode enabled PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1d.0 to 64 usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0xe000, IRQ 10 usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 2 ports detected PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1d.1 to 64 usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0xe400, IRQ 5 usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 3 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 2 ports detected PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1d.2 to 64 usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0xe800, IRQ 9 usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 4 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 2 ports detected PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1d.3 to 64 usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0xec00, IRQ 11 usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 5 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 2 ports detected usb-uhci.c: v1.275:USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.7-1, assigned address 2 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 4 ports detected hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.1-1, assigned address 2 usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0xa81/0x101) is not claimed by any active driver. hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.7-1.2, assigned address 3 usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x4cf/0x22) is not claimed by any active driver. hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.7-1.4, assigned address 4 usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x45e/0x39) is not claimed by any active driver. usb.c: registered new driver hiddev usb.c: registered new driver hid input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [CHESEN USB Keyboard] on usb3:2.0 input: USB HID v1.10 Device [CHESEN USB Keyboard] on usb3:2.1 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 mice: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout ...... usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [USB Keyboard USB Keyboard] on usb1:3.0 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 59 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 59 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 59 ret -110 ....... usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 59 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 59 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 59 ret -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 59 ret -110 usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -32 usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -32 usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed dev 3 rqt 128 rq 6 len 18 ret -32 input: USB HID v1.10 Device [USB Keyboard USB Keyboard] on usb1:3.1 input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Microsoft Microsoft 5-Button Mouse with IntelliEye(TM)] on usb1:4.0 hid-core.c: v1.8.1 Andreas Gal, Vojtech Pavlik <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> hid-core.c: USB HID support drivers .............................. usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:1d.1-1 address 2 spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7. ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
