So, on one hand they have all this infrastructure, and all these massive 
profits; on the other hand they cannot update their own infrastructure to 
keep their customers happy and unbothered.

So where did all those profits go?  They've just confirmed my belief that they 
were never "plowed" back into maintaining and developing the infrastructure.

Far from being "too big to fail", I'd say they're "too big to succeed".
