"Gerling Insurance AG, one of the largest industrial and business insurance
companies worldwide consolidates applications running on NT-based servers
onto a single IBM mainframe running SuSE Linux Enterprise Server to improve
service levels and reduce overall costs.

"SuSE and IBM announced today that GKI, a subsidiary of Gerling Insurance AG

and responsible for running their IT systems, has chosen to run e-business
software for accessing mainframe based applications previously running on
NT servers onto a single IBM mainframe with SuSE Linux. `Log-Web' the
e-business software which is being consolidated is a product of ISV Logics
based in Munich. The consolidation solution was developed jointly by IBM,
ISV Logics and SuSE Enterprise Business Partner RZnet. The solution will
allow Gerling employees and agents to access mainframe and Linux
applications
via a user-friendly web browser."
