So why not come up with the INDIAN SOFTWARE NO GREED LICENSE for both corporates and the indian FOSS movement. For instance : 1. for copyrights: To be freely used, at HOW MUCH PAYMENT (free or nominal or one day's wages or one minute's wages of a person), for any purpose whatsoever ------ provided the purpose is good and ethical and moral. NOT MERELY To be freely used, at no cost, for any purpose whatsoever --------------------------------------- SO FOR SOFTWARE ---- stripping off the legalese --- what points do you want to embed in your FOSS license ------- and why is FOSS seeking war with the commercial movement by seeking to destroy the commercial movement. 1. The software should be open-source. 2. Perhaps x% of the code can be hidden for commercial or security reasons. 3. The entire software should be open. 4. You can use the software for any purpose whatsoever or only those that are ethical, legal, and promote understanding. 5. WAR is not renounced because one day you may need the weapons of war to defend the human race against extra-terrestrials in faster than light travel -------------- or perhaps war is renounced by the users of the software ------ or perhaps the companies that make weapons cannot use this software ------------------------- this is a highly contentious statement ---------------------------- tread with care --------- what about war against computers, war against living beings, war against dogs, war against bacteria. 6.
