Whatever the case may be, anyone know if Safari plans to fix this bug in a future version? Links?

It could be as mnuch an Adobe issue as an Apple one. In any event, you can see here that Adobe's own dropdown menu, which falls over a Flash movie, exhibits the same problem in Safari.

Now, it is possible that Adobe does not check its site in Safari, because I know for a fact that Adobe (and formerly Macromedia) has known about this for a very long time.
