In my experience auto-sense sometimes causes enough of a timing delay that it 
can cause PXE boot to fail, as an auto-sense interface can go up and down 
during 
the process, and the server-side or client-side might fail to auto-negotiate 
fast enough to meet the DHCP, TFTP or other timeouts.
