Hi Mr Burgess, Yes, I have use that anti-social piece of hardware. Here are some pertinent infos.
I have tried this on two different LTSP servers. On 8.04 Ubuntu, it gives you a black screen. On 12.04 server, like you, I was unable to achieve full HD resolution. I am using it as my personal thin with 1280x1024 of resolution. I cannot "You tube" in full screen mode and even with a MP4 file directly on the LTSP server itself, video is still shaking. I have rode that the video portion of this motherboard is not from Intel but from a sub-contractor. Some linuxians wrote that this contractor is not pro-Linux. In response to many complain, Intel has supply a procedure so a Linux can get good graphics performance. A friend of mine did run throughout the Intel document. Again no result in Linux. So my friend says : "Maybe it is a Win only machine?" He did the test with an OS name I cannot prononced. And ... even with the dedicated driver, again no result. Conclusion, neither in Linux nor in "monopoly OS" it works correctly. This will finish as a POS somewhere. This is a mobo not well intended for graphic. Since it is sold as good desktop option, Intel should make a recall or, at least, supply new bios and procedure that is working... Hope this can help, -- Best regards, \----------@-@------------------------------------ .\----oOOo-(_)-oOOo------------------------------- .| .| André Laforest .| .| Dessin technique et conception mécanique en 3D .| Spécialiste d'application CAD et CAE. .| .| téléphone / phone : (418) 688-2959 .| courriel / e-mail : [email protected] Devez-vous vraiment imprimer ce courriel?
