*Update:*
I noticed presence of openbox.desktop in /usr/share/xsessions so I edited
*.dmrc* in $HOME directory to read:
[Desktop]
Session=openbox
Now my thin client logins!!!
It doesn't fix the problem with lxsession but at least allows me localize
it away from SSH. Thanks for the hint!
