Here we use MATE, and while it can look a little old fashioned at
times, it is easy to configure, and really lightweight. Removing
restricted items from the menu bars is really simple, and there is
plenty of documentation available for it around. However, in the
future I am looking to replace it with something that looks a bit
more modern, maybe Unity, dependant on resource usage. I agree
with the article in that it has a light memory footprint.

I wanted to ask -- is anyone running MATE and how do you find
it? And do you agree with the results in the link's analysis?
Is Gnome too heavy to run from experience?
