Hi folks,

The other day I tried to log into our LTSP from a virtualbox on a Win7 PC.

Basically, no problem. I can log in and work with it as with a standard
terminal.

But after a random time (sometimes a minute, sometimes less), the boxed
system seems to make a loooong rest. As the mouse still moves and clicks
are registered, I could imagine it's got to do with network traffic
(which seems to be stalled as well when I look at the net display below).

After some time, the system continues to run. All aggregated mouse
clicks from the pause are executed. No more problem until the next
pause. The pauses tend to become longer and longer until the system
stops completely.

Does anyone here have an idea what might cause this?

As there are many older PCs in the network, we run an LTSP 4.2. LTSP5 is
too large for most of them. But I guess this will not be reason anyway.

Regards
Rolf
