Makes sense, thanks again.

Sounding like time to do a fresh install. I poked around in the logs as to
why this happens:

sudo ltsp-update-image --cleanup /
[sudo] password for xyz:
^Crmdir: failed to remove '/tmp/tmp.f6EaWaAzef': No such file or directory

and nothing sticks out.
