Dear lute netters, ASW everybody knows, a "*" indicates a barre in Vallet's tablature. However: I never noticed that Vallet explains the symbol for Barree at the end of the first book:
Vous serez adverti, qu'a l'instruction du present Livre, on a oublié une petite estoille comme vous pourrez voir en la Tableture , laquelle signifie qu'il faut coucher le doigt. Bonne nuit,Rainer
