I think you hit a kernel bug. May be this one : https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14430 Normally, a system container spawns instantaneously. When the containers starts it does pivot_root and unmount all previous mount points belonging to the old rootfs. Is it possible you have a particular mount on your system which triggers this problem ?
