Why not have a Multiple View Component architecture ? The Outliner would be one view and the main window another view ; each view would have a infrastucture to remember what is collapsed or not. It would make possible to create views for informations that may pollute your text (notes, todo, revision marks, footnotes, etc.). Cheers, Charles ---- http://www.kde-france.org
