Please update again. I noticed that I had a previous version post beta 1 available that it was overlapping beta2 (due to the naming scheme that I had adopted). FWIW in technical terms I am now using the notation, that Debian also follows, that 2.4.0~beta2-1 is smaller than 2.4.0-1 (that will be the first release for the 2.4.0). So I have removed all the previous versions to be safe. Just to be sure please go to Help->"About LyX" in the Version tab you have an option to "Copy Version Info". What does it says?
