I'm sorry, I left out an important piece of information: I only get the exception when compiling the ja Math.lyx from the 2.3.x branch. The reason I compile from that branch is because I'm comparing the compiled PDF of master to the compiled PDF of 2.3.x. Can you reproduce now? Below is the terminal output.
