We can consider fixing this in the future, but I agree that a file format change now should be avoided. IMO this is a bug in the mail programs Bo is using. The dot mechanism should be completely transparent to the user. kmail has had this bug, too: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17025 I had a similar problem with PDF attachments in kmail: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95733 The proper solution here is of course toi fix kmail, or would you think that the PDF file format should be changed to be encoded in plain text to circumvent this problem?
